Ever since they've been making their mark on the Irish trad scene, the all-female supergroup Biird has been headed flat-out to the top like a bat out of hell, cracking charts like it's nobody's business. They're without a question one of the greatest Irish traditional outfits on the road today and they are oozing with that x-factor that sets them a cut above the rest. Next-level beautiful songs? Check. A fearless onslaught of pummeling rhythms? Done. Vocal genius that shakes the earth? You've got it. Lyrics that feels like it's been written just for you? Ticked. Legendary riffs and licks delivered to perfection? Of course. But the biggest, most important thing about Biird is that they simply don't fit into any mold. Described as the "Spice Girls of trad", the 11-piece collective founded by 7-time All-Ireland champion Lisa Canny doesn't conform to expectations.
