The Matches play at New York City's historic Bowery Ballroom on Saturday, September 26th, 2016. The Bay Area, 4-piece pop-punk outfit will play an intimate show filled with the band's signature mix of punk and new wave, in addition to their typical pop-punk flair. This fall The Matches will tour to support their new release The Matches Album 4, Unreleased; Bits & Pieces - a collection of previously unreleased Matches songs, and bits & pieces from their abandoned 4th studio album. Fans of The Matches should recognize "Salty Eyes" and "Papercut Skin" (one of the band's most popular songs) that are featured on this release. The album Decomposer (2006) the band released during their time together received a very positive reaction from their fans, as well as from critics. Decomposer was even co-produced by none other than Mark Hoppus of Blink-182, and John Feldmann of Goldfinger.

The band went on to release a second album, Decomposer, in 2006 that included a mix of pop-punk songs and more new wave inspired tracks, and earned the band recognition from fans and critics alike. The Matches officially disbanded in 2009 but have since performed one off shows here and there. So if you get the chance to see them before they go on hiatus again, you should definitely take it.
