It first began, way back in the olden days... well, OK, the 1970s. A new type of Rock music was born out of the independent and underground scenes of the day. However, Alt music truly came into its own by the mid-90s, a far less technological time, before the world was forever online. Life was good, and the music was unsurpassed. Legendary rock bands like Green Day, Foo Fighters, Blink 182, Third Eye Blind and Red Hot Chili Peppers exploded onto the scene. Hip-Hop legends Wu-Tang Clan, Busta Rhymes and Ice Cube blew up; singer-songwriters Madonna, Alanis Morissette and Sarah McLachlan cemented their reputations as genre-defining superstars. Now, almost 25 years after the end of the twenty-first century, most of those classic 90s bands are still giving astounding shows, but they are now joined by a new generation of Alt musician...
